Hello!
I’m Jill Heather Schmidt, a freelance translator for English, Chinese and German since 2018; born and raised in Germany, now based in Taiwan. As a translator I’m authorized by the Regional Court of Hanover for the languages English and Chinese, and I’m a member of the Fachverband Chinesisch e.V. (Association of Chinese teachers in the German-speaking area).

I translate texts of various types for you in the following language combinations:

- Chinese (Traditional/Simplified) → German
My preferred areas of expertise are travel and tourism, website and software localization, subtitles and (children’s) literature.
Certification
As an authorized translator for English and Chinese, I am authorized to certify translations of diplomas and certificates, for example, civil status certificates (birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.), graduation certificates, driver’s licenses and more.

Prices
The price of a translation depends on the difficulty and length of the text to be translated. Therefore, it is calculated individually for each project. The best way is to send me your text and I will give you a non-binding quotation based on the length (number of characters or standard lines*), the text type, the difficulty and the desired delivery date.
*One standard line = 55 characters incl. spaces
